Right, have built and uploaded a new package, gnome-blog now that I know my problem with it isn't down a bug in GNOME Blog itself.
My patch to the Blosxom XML-RPC interface is being considered because it adds timestamps [specifically time()] to the filenames of entries when they're posted, to avoid clashing filenames. Apparently the HTML escaping is down to the XML Parser I'm using, if I switch from SOAP::Lite to XML::Parser my patch isn't needed - good to know.
We've had snow here today, but not as much as last time
Okay, I think I've just about proven that GNOME Bug #164206 is actually a bug in the XML-RPC interface to Blosxom that I use, this post, if I've fixed the bug, represents my proof of that, and I'll be submitting a patch to the maintainer of the interface script.
