Big Planet SUSE catchup

I’ve been very behind on Planet SUSE updates. I just did a whole bunch. If you sent me an update in the last few weeks it is now done. That is all.

[Mis]adventures in Factory

A couple of days ago, I started using the pre-11.1 Factory builds – a ritual I go through roughly every six months as we get ready for a new release of openSUSE Linux. This morning, I upgraded – a full system update – and rebooted because the kernel had been updated. To my horror, the …

Closest book meme

(Because apparently I have nothing better to do right now) Grab the nearest book. Open it to page 56. Find the fifth sentence. Post the text of the sentence in your blog along with these instructions. Don’t dig for your favorite book, the cool book, or the intellectual one: pick the CLOSEST. They probably do …

Polls predicted it

The polls – as aggregated and parsed by Electoral-vote.com basically predicted the result state-by-state. Here’s the last set of polls and here’s the currently projected result with MT (43% counted), MO (91%), NC (99%) and IN (97%) still yet to announce. If those four states go as they appear to be so far then the …

Yes, he can!

338 electoral votes for Obama. He’s picked up CO, NV, VA and FL in addition to the Kerry states. NC and IN look likely to go for him too. The electoral map has been redrawn. The Democrats are likely to end up with 58 Senators a huge majority in the House and one new Governor …
