Tomorrow, I’m preaching my last sermon as a Curate. This is not because I have a new post – I don’t – but because it’s the last Sunday before my license officially expires and my status has to change. It happens to be the final session of a series that I opened back at the start of May on our vision as a parish and the text is 2 Corinthians 8.1-5. Here’s that text as a Wordle, utilising a nice green colour scheme since it’s now Ordinary Time. The recording will appear in due course.
The generosity that Paul wants to commend in the Macedonian churches is very apparent as is his belief that giving in the way that they had was in fact a privilege.
